Studio Graphics (by appointment) Studio Graphics is a class for producers who want to take their production to the next level with graphics that are created on the front end of production rather than in post production. At FPTV we offer the program Magic Soft CG as the main option for building custom graphics and importing them into the switcher. The Studio Graphics class also teaches how to overlay the graphics onto your video stream as you are recording it for a simplified post production workflow. 0 open section(s) Log in to register
Studio Lab (by appointment) Studio Lab is an opportunity for members of the Fayetteville community to get hands-on studio production experience. FPTV producers can both reserve a studio time to shoot whatever program they'd like, or they can sign up to help with filling positions that they feel comfortable with. Studio Labs are on Saturdays from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Orientation and one studio class is required to utilize or help with a Studio Lab. 0 open section(s) Log in to register
Advanced Motion Graphics (By Appointment) Advanced Motion Graphics teaches the producer the basics of animating different objects in Adobe Premiere Pro CC. The student learns the concept of keyframes and how they work and interact across platforms. Ultimately, the student should walk out of this class with the ability to competently animate objects and text in different ways. Advanced Color Grading (By Appointment) FPTV's color grading class is an extension of it's Advanced Editing and Advanced Motion Graphics class. This class is taught in Adobe Premiere Pro CC and discusses the capabilities that Premiere's Lumetri Color panel offer the user. Advanced Field Accessories (By Appointment) Advanced Field Accessories covers the setup and tear down process of the additional Field Equipment that is available at Fayetteville Public Television. The Advanced Field accessories that are covered are: the camera slider, the camera jib, and the cinema lighting equipment. Cinematic Field (By Appointment) Cinematic Field is the final field class that is offered by Fayetteville Public Television. Intro to Davinci Resolve Intro to Davinci Resolve is a class designed to begin familiarizing producers with Blackmagic Design’s editing software, Davinci Resolve. Originally a color correction program, Resolve was made into a full featured editor in 2012 and has been receiving consistent updates to its user features and user interface ever since. Given that it is a free program, FPTV has decided to make a class breaking down specifically how it works and the advantages/disadvantages it has when compared to programs like Final Cut Pro or Premiere. 0 open section(s) Log in to register
Advanced Editing Advanced Editing moves the producer from the world Adobe Elements to learning how to utilize the program Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Adobe's flagship editing program. This class covers the basics of organizing footage, rearranging and customizing work spaces, and exporting with professional codecs. The prerequisites for this class are Orientation and Basic Editing. Studio Camera Studio Camera is a great place to start if you are looking to be the person in charge of properly framing and filming productions in the studio. Advanced Field The Advanced Field Production Class is designed to give students in-depth training on concepts and advanced techniques of field production. Topics covered include lens techniques, camera movement, shot composition, lighting for video, field audio, tips and tricks, and more. You will also get to use the Fayetteville Television Center’s advanced field production equipment. This class consists of three weekly 90-minute sessions. Studio Audio Studio Audio is designed to teach the producer how to properly mic up talent, work the audio board and record and monitor clean audio that can be either be live broadcast or edited later in post production. Basic Editing The Basic Editing Class will give you an introduction to video editing on a computer. Topics covered include creating new projects, importing your video footage, performing basic edits, adding transitions, creating graphics, and outputting your finished project. This class consists on one 2-hour session. After completing this class you will be qualified to reserve and use the Fayetteville Television Center’s basic editing systems to create programs. Studio Technical Directing Studio Technical Directing teaches the user about the switcher board and the way that it can be used to manipulate video through transitions and effects. Technical Directing is a great class if you are looking to handle some of the post-production work right in the switcher. GoPro Videography A class session designed to familiarize the user with FPTV’s two GoPro Hero 5 Black units along with the two GoPro handheld stabilization gimbals. We cover all of the major functionalities of the GoPro like 4k recording, adjusting frame rates and picking correct focal lengths. The GoPros are ideal for run-and-gun shooting, vlogging or simply documenting an event from a first person perspective. 2 open section(s) Log in to register
Intro Content Creation Intro Content Creation explains all the production steps you need to keep in mind before you start working on your project. It is recommended to take this class right after Orientation. After taking this class, you will have the necessary knowledge to start a video production of your own, and you can take the Advanced Content Creation next to learn all the details about each Production stage. 2 open section(s) Log in to register
Advanced Content Creation (By Appointment) Advanced Content Creation is offered by appointment only. Email info@faypublic.tv to schedule a time and register for the class. In this class, you will learn all the details of each production stage (Pre-Production, Production, Post-Production), how to write and read a script, how to make storyboards and shotlists, and everything you need to know about Production Design.
